How to start a conversation
The form on this page goes directly to Jay. There is no sales team, no scheduler bot, and no qualifying funnel. A response usually comes within one business day, often the same day.
Email and phone work too: [email protected] or 614.434.6646.
What the first conversation looks like
The first call is fifteen to thirty minutes, by phone or video, at your preference. The goal is to understand your situation: how many people you employ, how often you hire, what role or roles are on your mind right now, and what you have tried already. By the end of the call, you should know whether Fractional Recruiting is the right fit for your business, what tier would make sense if it is, and what the first thirty days of an engagement would look like.
If the model is not the right fit, you will be told so on that call. We will usually point you toward whatever actually fits, which may be a contingency firm, a staffing agency, a fractional HR partner, or simply "do this yourself for now and call us in eighteen months."
What Jay is most useful for
- SMB owners in central Ohio thinking about hiring help and trying to figure out which kind.
- Owners who have used contingency firms before and want a model with different incentives.
- Owners growing into a new operational ceiling (first plant manager, first sales leader, first non-founder operations hire).
- Owners coming off a recent hiring failure trying to figure out whether the problem was the candidate, the process, or themselves.
- Conversations about hiring strategy even when no role is open yet.
What Jay is less useful for
- Enterprise recruiting pitches.
- Outreach from recruiting software vendors and sourcing tool sales teams.
- Single senior executive searches for VC-funded startups, which are usually better served by retained executive search.
- High-volume hourly staffing requests, which are better served by a staffing agency.
