Privacy policy

How Metcalf Search collects, uses, stores, and shares information from clients, candidates, and visitors to this site.

What information we collect

Metcalf Search collects two kinds of information. The first is information you give us on purpose: your name, business name, email address, phone number, role you are hiring for, and anything else you type into a form or send by email. The second is information your browser sends automatically when you visit metcalfsearch.com: a record of which pages you viewed, when, the type of device and browser you used, and a general geographic region inferred from your IP address. We do not collect Social Security numbers, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or health information through this site.

If you are a candidate working with Metcalf Search on an active search, we may also collect your resume, work history, references, and the substance of conversations we have with you about a role. If you are a client, we collect notes about your hiring history, open roles, the candidates we have presented to you, and the outcomes of those searches.

How we use it

Client and candidate information is used to do the actual work of recruiting: finding people, screening them, presenting them to clients, scheduling interviews, constructing offers, and supporting onboarding. Site analytics information is used to understand which pages are useful, which are not, and where visitors come from, so the site can be improved over time. We do not sell personal information. We do not buy mailing lists. We do not enroll you in marketing email without your consent, and any subscription email we send includes a clear unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

Client information is shared only with the Metcalf Search team members assigned to that engagement. Candidate information is shared with the specific client for the specific role being discussed, and only after the candidate has agreed to be presented. We use a small set of vendors to operate the business: an email provider, a calendar and scheduling tool, a payment processor, a website host, and an analytics tool. Each of these vendors sees only what it needs to provide its service, and each is bound by its own confidentiality terms. We do not share client lists, candidate lists, or engagement details with third parties for any purpose other than delivering recruiting services.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure traffic. GA4 sets cookies in your browser that allow us to see, in aggregate, how many people visit the site, which pages they read, and how they got here. These cookies do not collect your name, email, or any other personal identifier. The site does not use advertising trackers, retargeting pixels, or third-party marketing cookies. If you prefer not to be measured at all, most browsers offer a "do not track" setting or a way to block analytics cookies; we honor those signals where technically feasible.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, or ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep. If you are a candidate and would like to be removed from our search database, we will do so within a reasonable time, with the exception of information we are required to retain to document an active client engagement. If you are in a jurisdiction with a more detailed privacy law (California, the EU, the UK, Canada), the rights granted to you under that law apply to your interactions with Metcalf Search, and you can exercise them by writing to the address below.
